Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Whittaker Peace Development Initiative (WPDI) and the South Sudan Football Association are training over 30 D License coaches to promote peace through sports in Torit, the capital of E Eastern Equatoria.<\/p>\n

The training kicked off on Monday and the coaches will, after 10 days, be expected to adopt new FIFA rules.<\/p>\n

The South Sudan Under-21 coach, Felix Billa, told Radio Tamazuj that the D License coaches would help raise the standard of football.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat I want to tell you is that the training and the coaching have changed. People were now advancing and you need to be attentive to acquire enough knowledge and information, to deal with sophisticated players, some of them on play stations,\u201d Billa said.<\/p>\n

The state WPDI Coordinator, Alex Moro, said such training would empower the local coaches.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis training came as a result of our last evaluation that brought in all the blocks of Torit Municipality. Before that tournament, we had a training for all the block coaches, referees and administrators. We trained 24 coaches, 16 referees and 12 administrators then moved to the inter- block tournament to evaluate how it went.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne of the points that was raised is the need for the D licenses that will enable them to become real coaches,\u201d Billa explained.<\/p>\n
