Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO)has called on Kitgwang Group to urgently respond to dialoguemeant to restore solution to their political differences.<\/p>\n

On 1st January, the Acting Press Secretary in the Office of the First Vice President, Puok Both Baluang confirmed that the SPLM-IO has reiterated calls for dialogue with the Kitgwang group days after fresh clashes were reported in Magenis area of Upper Nile State.<\/p>\n

He stated that the SPLM-IO leadership in Juba is committed to the cessation of hostilities agreement and ready to dialogue with their rival group. Edmund Yakani, the Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization(CEPO) said, embracing dialogue for settling political difference was always a sense of demonstrating primary responsibility for non-violent resolution of political difference.<\/p>\n

At the same juncture, Yakani urgedSPLA-IO conflicting parties to embrace dialogue rather than using military approach that showed nothing except immaturity or confused political behaviors. Act in a manner of claiming loss of human lives and properties for the sake of having political power is totally unaccepted act<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a high time for our faith-based leaders to take the opportunity of facilitating dialogue among the conflicting parties of the SPLA-IO. Faith based leaders\u2019 kindly act now on making peace among the conflicting factions of the SPLA-IO through dialogue, watching at them and prayer for them without an action is not helpful. Your Excellency, President accept our appeal for you to urge our faith based leaders to facilitate dialogue among the conflicting factions of SPLA-IO and Your excellency First Vice President and 1stLt. General Simon Gatwech kindly with due respect and honor accept our faith-based leaders to facilitate a dialogue among your conflicting parties without any preconditions. As civil society we are ready to play part if you both conflicting parties accepted us\u2019\u2019. Mr. Yakani stressed<\/p>\n

He urgedIGADSpecial Envoy to South Sudan and IGAD Executive Secretary to allow our faith based leaders to urgently take responsibility of facilitating a dialogue among the conflicting factions of the SPLA-IO.<\/p>\n

Edmund called upon the leaders of the conflicting SPLA-IO factions to order their forces to observe ceasefire immediately in line with the provisions of the Ceasefire Agreement 2017.<\/p>\n
