Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The African People\u2018s Congress (APC), a recently formed party, has called for the full implementation of the revitalized peace agreement by 2022. In a statement seen by The City Review, the party said South Sudanese have suffered for so long and will continue to suffer due to the lack of complete implementation of the peace agreement.<\/p>\n

However, the letter stated that it is not too late for the parties to the agreement to put aside their differences and give peace a chance to implement the pending chapters of the agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany people couldn\u2019t make it because of the rampant insecurity on the highways, inter-communal conflicts and senseless wars, poor quality of food and medicine imported from neighbouring countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs such, APC urges South Sudanese to demand full implementation of the Khartoum Agreement within 2022 as this will usher in elections, \u201cthe letter noted.<\/p>\n

According to the document, it stated that \u201cAPC is very much aware of the fact that the government is using delay tactics to frustrate the implementation of R-ARCSS.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMany South Sudanese did not make it into the New Year because of poor health care services in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us remember and pay homage to those we have lost [their lives] due to the circumstances mentioned above, and make a vow to work hard to bring change that will put an end to this level of misery in our country,\u2019\u2019 the group stated.<\/p>\n

The group further called on civil servants and organized forces to demand an increment in their salaries. They also called upon President Salva Kiir Mayardit to halt or stop the continuous proliferation or flow of arms and ammunition into the hands of civilians.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe believe that will be a magic bullet in putting an end to senseless inter-communal conflicts fueled by the availability of arms and ammunition and an arms race.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group further called on religious leaders and media houses to play their crucial roles in aiding the implementation of the agreement in order for people to be free from poverty, illiteracy, and tribalism. Religious leaders were said to have done this during the tinted liberation struggle and that it should continue.<\/p>\n
