Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Sudan people\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Parliamentary Caucus has vowed to corporate with civil society. This development came in during a meeting organized by the Acting government ChiefWhip who is also the Chairperson of the Information Committee in the parliament.<\/p>\n

While addressing the media yesterday after the meeting, the Chairperson of Information Committee John Agany Dengpromised that the parliament would corporate with the civil society towards activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe civil society is welcomed to the National Legislative Assembly and we will share with you what we think is good for this country, we shall always be in corporation,<\/p>\n

So the office of the chief whip actually asked the civil society to come and at least share with us what they think we could actually do for this country. Because this country is for all of us and by the simple fact that we are ruling it, we need to consider every one of us in regards to corporation\u201d he added. He explained that the main aim of the meeting wasto pave way for the civil society and the parliament to corporate in assembly related issues.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis morning we have come together with the civil society to at least make an introductory meeting together and tried to check our notes concerning the next coming period in the National Legislative Assembly so that we compare our notes then see the way forward, how best we will actually do our activities\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

On his part, Edmund Yakani, the Executive Director for Community Empowerment for Progress Organization promised to corporate with the parliamentarians towards shifting the country out of violent.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday I had an opportunity to meet with the government chief whip in the parliament to deliberate on the matters of partnership, working together as civil society and the new parliament, of course we are all aware that all of us have collective responsibility to deliver this county from violence to peace by working together, by making sure that the resources, the capacity we have we share them to contribute for the positive development of this country\u201d Yakani narrated.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that the meeting reached productive conclusions aimed at improving the relationship between civil society and the parliament. \u201cWe had a very niece deliberation between us and the chief whip of the government in the parliament and we have certain conclusions among the conclusions we have reached is that we need to have strong partnership between civil society, media and parliament and improve the relationship\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be reviving a desk which is called civil society and media desk in the parliament to make sure that access of media to parliament is ease\u201d he added<\/p>\n

He appreciated the new Chairperson of the Information Committee in the parliament for inviting the civil society to interact with them at the right time where corporation is highly needed.<\/p>\n
