Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan\u2019s Vice President for the Economic Cluster in South Sudan, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, left Juba on Tuesday for Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), with the goal of attracting foreign investment.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bol, accompanied by senior government officials, is expected to bolster economic ties with the UAE.<\/p>\n

He will also deliver a message from President Salva Kiir to UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.<\/p>\n

Addressing reporters in Juba on Tuesday, Oyiti Ajawin, press secretary to VP Bol, said the visit aimed to strengthen economic cooperation as well as diplomatic cooperation between South Sudan and the UAE.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this is my take on that. Today, his excellency, President Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel, will be traveling to the UAE, Abu Dhabi, to discuss further economic cooperation, as well as diplomatic cooperation between South Sudan and the UAE,\u201d said Ajawin.<\/p>\n

Ajawin said the visit aims to establish new avenues for cooperation and promote opportunities that could significantly improve the livelihoods of people in Africa\u2019s youngest nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s important for both the countries to sit down and understand cooperative measures that will enhance the possibility of South Sudan and the UAE collaborating.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said the vice president is expected to engage in high-level discussions with government officials, investors, and private sector leaders to woo investment opportunities.<\/p>\n

He stated that the discussions are anticipated to focus on exploring bilateral cooperation and, most importantly, on strengthening the partnership between the United Arab Emirates and South Sudan.<\/p>\n
