The Public Financial Management Oversight Committee (PFM-OC) has restated its commitment to improving economic reforms during a meeting held in Juba on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
The 96th sitting, chaired by the Minister of Finance and Planning, Dr. Bak Barnaba Chol, reviewed updates on the country\u2019s revenue performance.<\/p>\n
Members received briefings from the Ministry of Petroleum on crude oil production and sales, while the Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority, William Anyuon Kuol, presented a report on non-oil revenue collections for the first and second quarters of the 2025\/2026 financial year.<\/p>\n
The meeting also marked the first formal participation of several newly appointed ministers.<\/p>\n
These included the Ministers of Public Service and Human Resource Development, Labour, Federal Affairs, and Gender, Child and Social Welfare, who were officially welcomed to the committee.<\/p>\n
Dr. Bak congratulated the new members and reiterated the government\u2019s commitment to fiscal discipline and economic reform measures.<\/p>\n
During the session, the Minister of Labour, Anthony Lino Makana, was appointed Secretary of the Oversight Committee, replacing James Hoth Mai, who has served in the position since the committee was formed.<\/p>\n
Addressing the meeting, the United Kingdom Ambassador to South Sudan and Co-Chair of the Oversight Committee, David Ashley, stressed the need to prioritize domestic revenue to support essential services, particularly health and education.<\/p>\n
