Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formed a special task force to help South Sudanese citizens facing harassment and deportation in Egypt, Sudan, and Libya.<\/p>\n

In a press briefing on Thursday, Ambassador Thomas Kenneth expressed deep concern over the humanitarian conditions of citizens in the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Republic of Sudan, and the Republic of Libya.<\/p>\n

Ambassador Thomas said the Ministry is worried about reports of arrests and maltreatment affecting women, children, and students. He confirmed that some citizens are being forced back to South Sudan against their will.<\/p>\n

According to Foreign Affairs, the new task force will use diplomatic channels to talk to these countries and stop the deportations. The government is currently holding high-level meetings in Juba and abroad to resolve the crisis.<\/p>\n

The Ministry reported an increase in the number of South Sudanese nationals being forcibly deported. According to Ambassador Elisapana, those affected have been subjected to harassment, arrest, detention, and imprisonment.<\/p>\n

The victims reportedly include vulnerable populations, specifically the elderly, women, students, and children. The Ministry noted it has received credible information that such treatment continues to affect citizens who remain in these territories.<\/p>\n

Despite the escalating crisis, the Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining diplomatic ties with the host nations. Ambassador Thomas stated that the government is engaging authorities at the highest levels, both in Juba and in the respective foreign capitals, to reach a resolution.<\/p>\n

The newly formed multi-sectoral task force is mandated to intensify diplomatic efforts to stop forced deportations, coordinate with South Sudanese embassies to monitor citizen welfare, and engage host governments to ensure the protection of legal rights.<\/p>\n

The Ministry is urging South Sudanese nationals globally to remain calm and adhere to the laws of their host countries. Citizens are encouraged to cooperate fully with South Sudan\u2019s diplomatic missions as the government works through formal channels to resolve the situation.<\/p>\n
