Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA: The President of the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), Akinwumi Adesina, has applauded President Samia Suluhu Hassan for her outstanding presentation at the first-ever high-level clean cooking summit.
He made the statement through his X account (formerly Twitter) shortly after the summit, adding that President Samia’s incredible leadership led to the success of the clean cooking summit in Paris, France.
“A great leader: Thank you, President @SuluhuSamia of Tanzania, for your incredible leadership that led to the success of the clean cooking summit in Africa held in Paris. The world heard you and rallied with $2.1 billion. You are a gem for Africa! We trust your leadership,” he stated.
During the summit, President Samia Suluhu Hassan led a campaign that mobilized $2.1 billion, a momentous milestone in efforts to address a challenge affecting women and children.
In her speech, she called for a generous replenishment of the African Development Fund, which includes $12 billion for clean cooking.

At the event, Tanzania’s Samia Suluhu Hassan was the co-chair alongside the President of AfDB, Akinwumi Adesina, Norway’s Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, and International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director, Fatih Birol.
