AfricaPress-Tanzania: COASTAL UNION FC Head Coach, Juma Mgunda has assured the team’s supporters and the management good results in their remaining seven matches of the just resumed Premier League.
Speaking after their 1-0 defeat to Mbao FC in a match played at CCM Kirumba stadium on Tuesday, Mgunda said his team played well but failed to utilise the few chanced they created.
The match solitary goal was netted by Jordan John in the 7th minute.
Mgunda, whose team failed to get good results in their three consecutive matches, said they will work very hard to win the remaining matches so as to finish in a top-five position at the end of the season.
Mgunda, the former Coastal Union captain said his team played very well despite failing to utilise the few chances they created.
He promised to improve the squad as well as rectifying the mistakes that led to their 1-0 loss to Mbao FC. Coastal Union are now placed fifth after gathering 48 points from 31-game outings.
They have won 13, drawn nine and lost nine matches. The former Premier League champions have netted 22 and conceded 29 goals.
Commenting about their 1-0 victory against Coastal union, Mbao FC head coach Fred Felix said his team played very well and his players were playing by following his instructions.
He further called upon the football fans in Mwanza Region to continue supporting their team in all their remaining matches. Mbao FC will play this Sunday against Police Tanzania at CCM Kirumba.
Mbao, who are sponsored by GF Trucks & equipment, are still languishing in the relegation zone, whereby they are placed 19th on the league table after gathering 26 points from 31-game outings.
They have won five, drawn seven and lost 13 matches. In order for Mbao FC to survive in the Premier League they need to win at least seven matches.
