Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE ruling CCM party has reiterated its dedication to fostering strong domestic and international cooperation to drive national development.
CCM stressed that it would continue to oversee government efforts in maintaining robust relations with various nations and institutions, both at home and abroad.
CCM Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr Emmanuel Nchimbi, issued the remarks during separate meetings with the envoys of South Korea, Norway and the United Kingdom at the CCM Sub-office in Lumumba, Dar es Salaam.
During his meeting with South Korea’s Ambassador to Tanzania Ahn Eunju, Dr Nchimbi stressed the importance of deepening the longstanding ties between the two countries, particularly in the areas of economic development and technology.
He said that Tanzania is currently benefiting from a 2.5 billion US dollars (about 6.5tri/-) concessional loan from South Korea, aimed at supporting key sectors such as education, health and infrastructure.
One notable project under this partnership is the construction of the Bagamoyo Fishing Port, valued at 156.5 million US dollars (about 408bn/-). Furthermore, both nations are working to enhance cooperation in the mining sector, focusing on strategic minerals like nickel and lithium.
In his talks with Norway’s Ambassador to Tanzania, Tones Tinnes, Dr Nchimbi acknowledged Norway’s long-standing partnership with Tanzania.
He praised the historical bond between the two countries and appreciated Norway’s support in tackling the effects of climate change, particularly through initiatives in agriculture, energy, water and health sectors.
With the British High Commissioner to Tanzania, Marianne Young, Dr Nchimbi highlighted the historical relationship between Tanzania and the United Kingdom, as well as the strong cooperation with the Labour Party-led government.
This collaboration focuses on ensuring mutual economic and social development for both countries’ citizens.
During these meetings, the envoys also commended the Extraordinary General Meeting of CCM held lats month in Dodoma, for endorsing President Samia Suluhu Hassan as the party’s presidential candidate for Tanzania, alongside Ambassador Nchimbi as her running mate, and Dr Hussein Mwinyi as the CCM presidential candidate for Zanzibar.

He said that Tanzania will continue to leverage its global partnerships to promote national development.
