Yanga resume training ahead of Singida BS friendly match

Africa-Press – Tanzania. YOUNG Africans SC has kicked off preparations for their upcoming Premier League, FA Cup as well as friendly match against Singida Black Stars, scheduled for next week which will also mark the official opening of the newly built Airtel Stadium in Singida region.

The team had been granted a break during the FIFA international calendar which came after their 3-1 victory over Coastal Union in the 32nd round of the Federation Cup.

Following the break, Yanga resumed training yesterday.

Yanga’s Communication and Information Manager, Ally Kamwe, confirmed that the team has begun its training session at Avic Town in Kigamboni, Dar es Salaam, as they prepare for their next league and FA Cup fixtures, in addition to the friendly match against Singida BS.

“Training officially began today (yesterday) at Avic Town as we prepare for our friendly match against Singida Black Stars. The players are in high spirits and ready for the challenge. We’ve been focusing on refining our tactics and ensuring our fitness levels are up to standard,” Kamwe stated.

“This game will be a great opportunity to test our systems. We’re aiming for a strong, competitive performance as we prepare for the upcoming season.

It’s a chance for us to evaluate how we execute our tactics in a match setting and see how our players handle different situations,” he added.

Kamwe also emphasised that the team has been working on various playing styles, both offensive and defensive and the friendly match will provide a platform to implement these strategies in real-time.

“The technical staff has been working hard on refining our attacking and defensive strategies and we’re looking to build on the positive momentum we’ve had so far this season. We’ve also been focusing on team cohesion and communication on the field, which will be vital for our success,” Kamwe noted.

However, Kamwe confirmed that Yanga will miss the services of some key players, including Kouassi Yao, who is sidelined due to injury, along with players currently representing their national teams.

After the friendly match against Singida BS, Yanga will face Songea United in the 16th round of the Federation Cup at KMC Stadium in Dar es Salaam on March 29.

On April 1, they will take on Tabora United at Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in a Premier League fixture
