Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIAN President Samia Suluhu Hassan has been awarded the prestigious Mother of the Nation Order by the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in recognition of her significant contributions to sustainable development in Tanzania.
The award, one of the highest honours conferred by the Government of the UAE, was officially presented to President Samia by the UAE’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during a ceremony held at the State House in Dar es Salaam.
This distinguished medal is granted to leaders who have made remarkable contributions to societal welfare, social and economic development, and the strengthening of international cooperation. The UAE government acknowledged President Samia’s efforts in advancing Tanzanian society, particularly through policies on sustainable development, women’s empowerment, and the promotion of international relations goals that align with the UAE’s own development agenda.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Abdullah conveyed congratulatory messages from Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to President Samia and extended well wishes to the people of Tanzania for continued progress and prosperity.
He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with Tanzania, emphasizing the importance of expanding cooperation across key sectors of mutual interest.
