Tanzania, Finland sign MoU to enhance cooperation via two institutions

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian government and the Republic of Finland have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing international cooperation through their respective institutions; the Salim Ahmed Salim Centre for International Relations (Tanzania) and the Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation (Finland).

The signing ceremony was successfully held and witnessed by the Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Said Shaib Mussa. In his remarks after the event, Ambassador Mussa congratulated both institutions for this important step and urged them to implement the agreed-upon commitments within the designated timeframe.

On Tanzania’s side, the MoU was signed by Dr. Felix Wandwe, the Acting Director of the Salim Centre, while on Finland’s side, it was signed by the Chief Executive Officer of the Martti Ahtisaari Peace Foundation.

The event was also accompanied by a special training session on Agreements, Mediation, and Negotiation for staff from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, as well as institutions under the ministry, including the Salim Ahmed Salim Centre and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM).

This agreement is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations and international cooperation between Tanzania and Finland, particularly in the areas of peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and institutional capacity development.
