AfricaPress-Tanzania: FORMER Simba SC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Crescentius Magori has described the recent resignation by his successor Senzo Mazingisa as unprofessional saying he ignored formal procedures to step down.

Mazingisa tendered his resignation letter as CEO of Simba on Sunday afternoon and swiftly crossed the line to join traditional rivals Young Africans in a move which is the first of its kind to happen in the country.

But, reacting to this yesterday, Magori said what surprised him most was the way he (Mazingisa) announced his resignation saying he was supposed to write a formal letter to the club.

“He was supposed to give written notice, hand over the office and thereafter, proceed with his other duties. If he followed these steps, it would not have been a problem other than to write on his Twitter account that he has resigned and few minutes later, see him signing at Yanga,” Magori said.

He added: “Until now (yesterday), he still has documents of the club and has joined our rivals while in custody of our official documents which is not right at all. He was supposed to do better than that.

“He is not reached by phone to know the whereabouts of different documents and contracts of Simba but they (Yanga) should know that before he starts working for them, we will cancel his Simba working permit because he cannot use the same working permit at Yanga,” he said.

He then urged the departed CEO to freely go at Simba offices to officially hand over all the required details of the club plus a Mercedes Benz he used to drive as the club’s CEO so that he can start new life.

“I do not think that Simba have been highly affected with him crossing to the other side, it is possible that he has found green pastures. It is his decision to do so,” he said.

Earlier, Simba Information Officer Haji Manara said Mazingisa’s departure will not in any other way affect the smooth running of the club.

“Simba is bigger than Mazingisa. The club was there before him and will continue to survive. Even if Mohamed Dewji (Simba Investor) can opt to step down, Simba will still exist,” he said.

He continued: “If players can leave, it means even the CEO can go. There is nothing new he brought which does not exist. Simba is a big club than any other person.”

The former Orlando Pirates Administrative Official replaced Magori at the helm of the club last year and among other things he pledged to fulfill at Simba was to turn the club’s fans into potential customers.
