Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) has announced that its National Executive Committee (NEC) will hold its regular meeting on July 26, 2025, contrary to earlier expectations that it would take place on July 18 or 19.
Speaking to the press today, July 19, at the CCM Headquarters in Dodoma, the Secretary of Ideology, Publicity, and Training, Amos Makalla, said the NEC meeting will be preceded by a Central Committee (CC) meeting, which will also be held on July 26.
Makalla stated that preparations for the meetings are progressing well, emphasizing that these steps are part of the ongoing internal party election process according to the official timetable.
Additionally, he revealed that on July 28, 2025, the CCM Central Committee will reconvene to make final selections of parliamentary and House of Representatives candidates, who will later be subjected to primary elections based on a schedule that will be announced in due course.
