Africa-Press – Tanzania. MEMBER of the CCM National Executive Committee (NEC) and Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has said the party is fielding strong and capable candidates for the upcoming General Election to ensure continued national development.
He said the party’s campaign is anchored by its presidential candidate, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, whose leadership has already delivered major achievements that continue to improve the daily lives of Tanzanians.
Mr Majaliwa made the remarks on Sunday, during the launch of the parliamentary campaign for Lindi Urban Constituency, held at the Mnazi Mmoja Primary School grounds in Lindi Region.
“President Samia has done tremendous work nationwide, including here in Lindi. We cannot expect success without leadership continuity. She has secured funds for important projects. Why should we stop her from continuing what she has started? he asked.
He urged Tanzanians not to doubt President Samia’s leadership, pointing to her achievements in education, health, agriculture and infrastructure within a short time.
“This CCM manifesto brings even more benefits to the people of Lindi. Do not make the mistake of missing out on October 29,” he warned.
Campaigning for CCM parliamentary candidate Mohamed Utaly, Mr Majaliwa described him as a strong and proven leader who has consistently demonstrated his capability. He encouraged voters to support Utaly to ensure continued progress for the constituency.
On his side, Mr Utaly said he decided to run for parliament to contribute to the development of the area.
“I have prepared myself to serve. I want to ignite the torch of development in our constituency. Vote for President Samia, our MPs and councillors, give them an honourable vote,” he urged.
Mr Utaly pledged to provide diligent representation in Parliament and beyond, promising to use his professional expertise to advance Lindi Urban’s development.
“I will use my skills and knowledge to ensure our constituency moves forward,” he affirmed.
On Saturday, PM Majaliwa launched CCM campaigns in Ruangwa District, held at Likangala Primary School grounds in Ruangwa, insisting that residents of Lindi have every reason to elect Dr Samia.
He stressed that under Samia’s leadership, large, medium and small-scale projects have been implemented, reflecting her recognition that citizens deserve better services. The CCM manifesto also highlights new initiatives set for implementation in Lindi Region.
Campaigning for Ruangwa parliamentary candidate, Kasper Mmuya, Mr Majaliwa said he is capable, hardworking and will deliver development to the constituency. For his part, Kasper Mmuya pledged to sustain all the good initiatives started by Majaliwa, particularly in education, health, and economic empowerment.
He assured Ruangwa residents that he would serve them diligently and work closely with them in all areas that would help drive development forward.
Other CCM parliamentary candidates who attended the campaign launch included Salma Kikwete (Mchinga), Nape Nnauye (Mtama), Kinjekitile Ngombale (Kilwa North), Asnen Dewji (Kilwa South), Mohamed Utaly (Lindi Urban), Fadhili Liwaka (Nachingwea) and Msham Munde (Liwale).
