Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM councillorship candidate for Buigiri Ward in Chamwino Constituency, Keneth Yindi has urged young people to be cautious and not allow themselves to be exploited by opportunistic political parties during the campaign season.
Addressing residents at a rally held in Chinangali Village recently, Mr Yindi warned that some political actors aim to disrupt the electoral process by manipulating youth for their own interests.
“I urge our youth to remain vigilant and avoid being misled by pseudo-politicians who only engage with them during campaigns and then disappear when elections are over,” he said.
Mr Yindi further encouraged young people to participate fully in the electoral process by turning out in large numbers to vote, rather than aligning themselves with political movements that offer no tangible benefits for their future or the nation.
“Many young people follow political parties blindly, without assessing whether they truly stand to gain from the policies and development opportunities being offered,” he added.
Outlining his campaign priorities, Yindi pledged to establish a permanent school meals programme across all schools in Buigiri Ward to improve students’ academic performance and push for the construction of modern markets in every village.
He also promised to improve healthcare infrastructure by advocating for more dispensaries and health centres, wellequipped with medical supplies and adequately staffed.
Meanwhile, a former CCM parliamentary candidate for Chamwino Constituency, Rehema Kayombo urged women to come out in large numbers on election day to help secure a decisive victory for CCM.
“Women play a critical role in shaping the future. Your vote matters, let’s show up and make a difference,” she said.
