Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE head of Tanzania’s women’s futsal national team delegation, Zena Chande, said the squad is in good shape and ready for tomorrow’s opening fixture with Portugal at the 2025 FIFA Futsal Women’s World Cup.

She made the comments after the team arrived in Manila on Wednesday, following a week-long training camp in Jakarta. Chande said the players were focused and determined to represent the country.

“We have travelled with 25 players. We arrived in Manila safe and all our players are in a good shape. We believe we will do well because we are well prepared. In Jakarta, we had a one-week camp and the players are fit to complete the mission.”

The edition is to commence today and climax on December 7th. All matches of the tournament will be held at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig, Metro Manila.

Tanzania has been drawn in Group C alongside Portugal, Japan and New Zealand. Tanzania will face Portugal first, followed by New Zealand on Wednesday and will conclude their group campaign against Japan on 29 November.

After the group campaign two top nations will advance to quarterfinals. Group A features hosts Philippines, Poland, Morocco and Argentina. Group B includes Spain, Thailand Colombia and Canada. Group D comprises Brazil, Iran, Italy and Panama.
