Africa-Press – Tanzania. CCM Secretary General, Dr Asha Rose Migiro, has urged youth in the country to do everything possible to ensure that the nation does not fall into challenges like those that arose on the day of the General Election on October 29, 2025.
She made the statement earlier on Thursday during the 2025 Women’s Forum, themed “Mama ni Amani” (Mother is Peace), which aims to discuss the contribution of peace to the nation.
In her speech, the Secretary General said that Tanzania belongs to the youth and they have every reason to protect the country because it is theirs.
“This nation belongs to the youth, and even by our national statistics, youth make up a large portion of our population.”
According to Dr Migiro, the Women’s Forum’s main agenda is to discuss the contribution of peace in nation-building in its various dimensions.
Furthermore, Dr Migiro stressed the importance of reconciliation, noting that this is the time to respond to the call for reconciliation and dialogue.
“We have heard that a commission has been formed to investigate the root causes, but alongside that, we have a responsibility to continue creating a conducive environment so that when the time comes, we can also participate in the very important process of beginning the journey of reconciliation,” she said.
The meeting was not only attended by women, but a good number of youth and men participated too.
