Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan is expected to grace the major Parliamentary Conference expected to take place in Arusha.

This was revealed today, December 4, 2025, in Arusha, where a delegation from the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) visited Tanzania as part of preparations for the conference.

The conference is expected to bring together more than 1,500 Speakers, Members of Parliament, and leaders from around the world.

The delegation led by Ambassador Ande Filip, accompanied by the Deputy Permanent Representative of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, Dr Hoyce Temu, was welcomed by the Arusha Regional Commissioner, CPA Amos Makalla, earlier today, December 4, 2025, when they had the opportunity to discuss several matters.

According to Mr Makalla, Tanzania has had the opportunity to host the conference due to its active participation and history in the IPU and most importantly, how it is regarded internationally.

“We have assured them that we are ready to give full cooperation to ensure this historic conference is successful,” he said.

Additionally, he said that the conference is an opportunity for the people of Arusha and Tanzania as a whole, coming at the right time, to showcase the peace, security, stability, and international trust that Tanzania enjoys.

He ceased the opportunity as asked citizens to take advantage of the economic opportunities that will come with the event.

Giving a summary of the timetable, Ambassador Ande, on behalf of the other IPU officials, said the international conference will take place for about six days in Arusha and that according to the schedule, participants from around the world are expected to spend more than six days in the region to get the opportunity to visit historical sites and tourist attractions in Arusha and other nearby areas.
