TISEZA Identifies Gold Mining and Tourism Investments

Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Board Chairman of Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA), Dr Aziz P. Mlima, leads the authority’s envoys who have arrived in Mara Region to promote domestic investment at the national level.

The TISEZA delegation visited the Mara Regional Commissioner’s Office, where it was received by the Acting Regional Administrative Secretary, Mr Emmanuel Mazengo.

The visit forms part of a national domestic investment promotion campaign aimed at educating Tanzanians and encouraging them to actively participate in local investment activities in order to stimulate national economic growth.

Speaking during their tour of the region, the chairman of the TISEZA Board, Dr Mlima, said the campaign seeks to raise awareness among Tanzanians about the various investment opportunities available in the country, particularly in Mara Region. He noted that the region offers significant investment potential in the tourism sector due to the presence of Serengeti National Park.

He further pointed out that Mara Region is among the regions with substantial gold reserves, presenting wide-ranging investment opportunities in the mining sector.

Dr. Mlima also highlighted opportunities in cage fish farming, made possible by the presence of Lake Victoria, and urged Tanzanians to take advantage of these opportunities.

According to Dr. Mlima, during the visit TISEZA is expected to organize a Domestic Investment Conference scheduled for the 26th of this month, as well as conduct site visits to projects owned by Tanzanians to assess progress and hear testimonies from local investors who have ventured into investment activities in the region.

Meanwhile, the Acting Regional Administrative Secretary for Mara Region, Mr Emmanuel Mazengo, welcomed the TISEZA delegation and commended the Authority for its efforts in promoting domestic investment, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between Mara Region and TISEZA in advancing the economic well-being of citizens.
