Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE professional golfers’ category at the 2026 TPC Golf Open delivered a fiercely competitive two-day showdown, with the 36-hole contest concluding on Friday at the scenic TPC Club course in Moshi.
After two rounds of composed shot-making and smart course management, Isaac Wanyeche emerged victorious, finishing at four under par (-4) to claim the first professional title of the year.
Wanyeche’s accuracy and calm execution across both rounds set him apart in a demanding field.
Nuru Mollel secured second place at two under par (-2) after a steady and disciplined performance, while Fadhyl Nkya finished third at one under par (-1), offering early signs of what promises to be a highly competitive season.
Just outside the red numbers, John Said carded a total of one over par (+1) to take fourth place. Elisante Lembris rounded out the top five at three over par (+3) after a challenging second round.
With the professional category concluding on Friday, attention shifted to the Elite Amateurs and subsidiary categories, which continued through Saturday at the same venue.
The amateur field produced an exciting and competitive display during Saturday’s second round of the TPC Open 2026 Main Event, as challenging scoring conditions rewarded patience and consistency heading into the final round.
After 36 holes of the 54-hole annual national tournament, Julius Mwinzani leads the Elite Amateurs at +2 overall, following another steady round that gave him a narrow but valuable advantage going into Sunday.
Close behind is Neema Olomi at +3, just one shot off the lead, with solid ball striking keeping him firmly in contention. George Sembi sits third at +4, while Elisha Mbwambo follows in fourth at +5.
The top six is completed by Godfrey Gwacha and Gervas Wilbroad, both tied at +6, ensuring a tightly packed leaderboard. Emmanuel Lucas (+7) and Malius Kajuna (+8) remain within striking distance, alongside Hussein Nathaniel, who also sits at +8.
A congested group at +10, including Hafidhi Twalib, Auni Jaffari, Likuli Juma, and Ramadhani Yassin, will be looking for strong final-round charges.
With slim margins separating much of the field, Sunday promises a compelling finish as the Elite Amateurs battle for top honours at the TPC Open 2026.
