Africa-Press – Tanzania. FOLLOWING the growing use of financial services through mobile network agents, Equity Bank Tanzania has officially entered into a strategic partnership with Mixx by Yas in a bid to strengthen efforts to expand financial inclusion across the country.

The partnership seeks to ensure that citizens can access banking services quickly, conveniently, and reliably in various locations without having to travel long distances to bank branches.

The launch of the partnership took place today, February 17, 2026, in Dar es Salaam and was attended by leaders from both institutions as well as financial service agents.

Speaking at the event, the Director of Equity Bank Tanzania, Isabela Maganga, said the objective of the partnership is to enhance banking services through the Mixx by Yas agent network to reach citizens more easily. She noted that the move will reduce the distance between customers and financial services and spare them the inconvenience of traveling long distances to access banking services.

She further explained that the collaboration will help agents unlock more economic opportunities through increased transaction volumes, a broader range of services, and business growth. For the wider community, she said the initiative will promote financial inclusion and strengthen money circulation within the local economy.

On her part, the Chief Executive Officer of Mixx by Yas, Angeliqa Pesha, said the partnership reflects the financial sector’s direction toward integrating services and bringing them closer to Tanzanians through the company’s agent network.

“By combining Equity’s banking expertise with the strength of the Mixx platform and our extensive agent network, we are transforming community-based service points into full-service banking access points. Through this partnership, including the expansion of International Money Transfer (IMT) services, we are increasing accessibility, convenience, and trust for millions of Tanzanians. Together, we are building a more inclusive, digitally connected financial system that empowers the national economy,” she said.

Meanwhile, agents’ representative Honest Alfredy thanked the two companies for establishing the partnership, saying it will create new employment opportunities for agents and increase their income through expanded services and a growing customer base.
