Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE much-anticipated Lina Professional Golfers (PG) Tour (Pro-Am) 2026 is officially set to tee off from 26th to 29th March at the Tanzania People’s Defence Forces (TPDF) Lugalo Golf Club in Dar es Salaam.

With the inspiring theme ‘Journey to Your Dream’, the tournament promises to be a landmark event for professional and elite golfers aiming to elevate their careers to the next level.

The tour is organised in collaboration with the Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU), the Tanzania Professional Golfers Association (TPGA), and Penda Golf Tanzania.

According to one of tournament organisers, Yasmin Chali, preparation for the same is on top gear.

The tournament is designed to bring together professional golfers, elite amateurs, and rising talents in a competitive yet developmental environment.

The event reflects a strong commitment to growing the golf sport, particularly in Tanzania, by providing players with exposure, competitive experience, and valuable networking opportunities.

Chali said the registration for professionals and elite players is now officially open. Participants are encouraged to secure their spots early by scanning the QR code provided on the event poster or by following the registration link.

She said the registration deadline is Thursday, 19th March 2026, and organisers have clearly stated that no late entries will be accepted.

“This firm deadline underscores the importance of early preparation and smooth event planning to ensure a high-quality tournament experience for all involved,” she added.

The choice of Lugalo Golf Club as the venue adds prestige and excitement to the competition. Known for its challenging layout, Lugalo offers a perfect stage for players to showcase their skills, strategy, and mental toughness.

Over four days, of 72 holes, battle participants from across the country will compete in a format that blends professional excellence with amateur enthusiasm, making the Pro-Am setup both thrilling and inclusive.

The World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) event highlights the tournament’s credibility and its alignment with recognised golfing bodies.

“The involvement of WAGR is particularly significant, as it provides amateur players with the opportunity to earn valuable ranking points, potentially opening doors to international competitions,” said Chali.

Beyond competition, the event embodies a broader vision of nurturing talent and promoting golf as a professional pathway.
