Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving the business and investment climate to accelerate industrial growth, create jobs, and boost private sector contribution to the economy.

Minister for Industry and Trade Judith Kapinga reaffirmed this in Dodoma during separate meetings with leaders from Huawei, Sunflag (Tanzania) Limited, GS1 Tanzania, Serengeti Breweries Limited, and Dangote Cement, noting that the government’s focus is on ensuring that local industries operate efficiently, adopt modern technologies and produce globally competitive goods.

Additionally, the minister said that her ministry, in collaboration with other sectoral ministries, is working to resolve challenges facing traders and investors to drive the country’s industrial transformation.

In talks with Huawei’s Director General of Business Development, Vicent Wen, both sides explored strengthening cooperation in ICT to create jobs and promote digital innovation through programmes such as DigiTruck and ICT Academy.

She also met Sunflag’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel Mwabuka, urging the company to promote the “Made in Tanzania” label and ensure a reliable cotton supply for textile production.

On the cement sector, the minister held discussions with Dangote Cement Tanzania Managing Director Adeyemi Fajobi, assuring continued government support for the company’s plants in Mtwara, Lindi, Dar es Salaam, and Tanga, with a focus on boosting production and ensuring the availability of key raw materials to attract further investment in the sector.
