World Forestry Day, celebrated annually on March 21, aims to raise awareness about the importance of forests and trees in sustaining life on Earth. It encourages global efforts to protect and manage forest resources sustainably. In Tanzania, tree planting initiatives are crucial for combating deforestation and promoting biodiversity, especially in regions like Lindi, which face environmental challenges due to climate change and land degradation. The National Tree Planting Campaign further supports these efforts by mobilizing communities to engage in tree planting activities, fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.
