Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education, Culture and Sports has approved the draft plan and budget estimates for recurrent expenditure and development projects for the 2026/2027 financial year for the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.
The plan was endorsed on March 24, 2026, under the leadership of the committee’s chairperson, Husna Sekiboko, who said the blueprint will serve as a catalyst in preparing a skilled and competent youth population.
Additionally, the chairperson stressed the need to ensure a steady flow of funds to facilitate the timely implementation and completion of all development projects.
“We have witnessed many major and impressive projects that are strengthening public confidence in the government while boosting productivity in national development,” she said.
Moreover, she also urged the ministry to work closely with the Ministry of Finance to ensure funds for education development projects are disbursed on time and in a manner that guarantees efficient execution.
Also, the Minister for Education, Science and Technology, Adolf Mkenda, commended the committee for endorsing the ministry’s budget proposals and pledged continued improvements in education systems and learning environments.
He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to ensuring every Tanzanian child has equal and inclusive access to education and skills development.
