Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Tanzanian Ambassador to Comoros, Saidi Yakubu, met with the Speaker of the Assembly of the Union of the Comoros, Moustadroine Abdou, for a formal farewell following the completion of his term of service in the country.

During their discussions, Ambassador Yakubu thanked Speaker Abdou for the close and cooperative relationship that existed between the Tanzanian and Comorian parliaments throughout his tenure.

He noted that joint efforts had strengthened parliamentary ties, facilitated experience sharing, and laid a solid foundation for long-term collaboration.

The ambassador also expressed satisfaction with the achievements coordinated by the Tanzanian Embassy in Comoro, highlighting that parliamentary diplomacy had continued to play a key role in enhancing bilateral relations.

For his part, Speaker Abdou commended Ambassador Yakubu for his work and the successes realized during his service, emphasizing that his contributions had left a lasting mark in strengthening friendly and strategic relations between Tanzania and Comoro.

Speaker Abdou, who is constitutionally the second-highest authority in Comoro, also recalled that he was the first Speaker of the Comorian Parliament to make an official parliamentary visit to Tanzania, a step he described as opening a new chapter of direct parliamentary cooperation between the two nations.

To further promote collaboration, Speaker Abdou invited the Speaker of the Tanzanian Parliament to undertake an official visit to Comoro later this year, noting that the visit would strengthen parliamentary diplomacy and reinforce the fraternal ties between the two countries.

Ambassador Yakubu is expected to return to Tanzania in early April, leaving behind a legacy of achievements in enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in parliamentary diplomacy, economic cooperation, and social collaboration.
