Transport operators in Mbeya who participated in a recent strike are at risk of facing legal repercussions, including the suspension of their operating licenses. This warning was issued by LATRA’s Director General, Habibu Suluo, following a significant increase in fuel prices. The rise has been attributed to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

The remark was made by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority (LATRA) Director General, Habibu Suluo during the press briefing in Kibaha,Coast Region.
The move comes two days after the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) announced an increase in fuel prices by more than 900/- per litre from 2864 to 3820.
The sharp rise in fuel prices has been linked to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East involving the United States, Israel and Iran.
