Africa-Press – Tanzania. SIMBA SC Assistant Coach, Selemani Matola, has warned that Coastal Union remain a difficult opponent, as they prepare for today’s Mainland Premier League clash at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking during a pre-match interview, Matola stressed that encounters between the two sides are rarely straightforward, pointing to their recent meeting, which ended in a goalless draw.

He noted that Coastal Union’s resilience and organisation make them one of the more challenging teams in the league.

“There is never an easy match against Coastal Union when we meet them,” Matola said. “We have prepared well, and our focus is to ensure we get positive results.” Despite acknowledging the threat posed by their opponents, Matola expressed confidence in Simba’s preparations ahead of the fixture.

He confirmed that the squad is in good condition, with all players fit and available for selection. “Our preparations have been good, and the players are healthy and ready for the showdown,” he added. “What is important now is to fight for maximum points.”

Simba SC, with 31 points from 14 matches, are firmly in second place in the league. They trail behind Young Africans at the top, who have 38 points from 16 matches. Slightly behind Simba are Azam FC with 29 points from 15 matches, Coastal Union are seated 13th with 15 points from 16 games.

Addressing the pressing Coastal Union Head Coach Mohammed Muya expressed confidence in his squad despite facing one of the league’s heavyweights.

“We understand Simba’s quality, but we have come to compete and fight for three important points. Our players are in good physical condition ahead of the match,” Muya said.
