THE Under-20 League continues to rage on unheralded, but on the main arena there are Ruvu Shooting, Mtibwa Sugar and Kagera Sugar dictating terms over the pursuers in their groups. The league’s group A has been a three-horse affair; Yanga and Ruvu Shooting and Azam have tied on points after each playing seven matches.
All three have pocketed 11 points. They have won three matches, drew two and lost two to pocket 11 points. Below them are Coastal Union and Polisi Tanzania with 10 points. Namungo who have collected 5 points are placed at the bottom of the group A table. At the helm of group B there are Mtibwa Sugar who parade 16 points ahead of the second-placed Simba with 13 points.
Tanzania Prisons are third with 11 points while the fourth place is occupied by Mbeya City with 9 points. KMC are fifth with 6 points as Ihefu at the bottom of the group B table with only 2 points. But the best performance so far has been displayed in group C commanded by Kagera Sugar who have reaped 18 points.
JKT Tanzania and Mwadui are second and third respectively though each parade 9 points. Gwambina follow them at the fourth position having reaped 8 points. They have played seven games won two, drew two and lost three others. Biashara United who have collected seven points take the fifth position.
They have won two games, drew once and lost three games. At the bottom of group C are Dodoma Jiji with 6 points. They have won one game and drew three others while losing two matches in the process.
The U-20 teams are used to groom players who will later join the senior teams featuring in the top flight league.
