Africa-PressTanzania. The government has established Kiswahili experts database, as part of strategy of making the language an international commodity.

Lawmakers have been informed in Dodoma Friday that 1,300 experts have already registered in data.

Earlier, MP Mussa Sima tasked the government to explain plans that have been executed so far to ensure Kiswahili wanted in Dodoma on Friday who wanted to know the government’s efforts in making Kiswahili among international language.

However, the Deputy Minister for Information, culture, Arts and Sports, Pauline Gekul said that the ministry has put in place strategies geared to boost the East African language to international sphere.

“The Government has bought modern equipment for interpretation training and embarked on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in promoting Kiswahili,” Deputy Minister for Information, Pauline Gekul told the August House.

The Deputy Minister added that plans to teach Kiswahili language to foreigners through the Embassies are underway.
