Africa-Press – Tanzania. POLICE in Mwanza have arrested eight people for allegedly stealing construction material at the ongoing Kigongo-Busisi Bridge.
Mwanza Regional Police Commander, Jumanne Muliro told reporters on Friday that the suspects were found in possession of various construction materials, which are properties of the company that is undertaking the project.
He said the incident occurred on May 4, this year at Kilabela area. He said the suspects were found with the materials in a Toyota Hiace van with the registration number T 610 DNV.
He mentioned the stolen equipment as 19-H-beams, 3-cutting tot, 2 PIP and one black cable wire.
The RPC said the driver told the police that he received the materials from Joshua Wilson (43) who is a technician at Mbugani area in Sengerema District.
