Africa-Press – Tanzania. President Samia Suluhu Hassan on Tuesday made an impromptu inspection at the Gerezani-Mbagala Dar es Salaam Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) Phase II expressing dissatisfaction on the pace of the construction work.
The project was supposed to be completed at least by 60 per cent but it is currently at 16 percent.
According to the President, the delays for the project has economic consequence and must be revisited
The BRT project implementation is a continuation of the government’s strategy to decongest traffic jam in Dar es Salaam.
“I’m here to learn the challenges leading to the delays of this project on weather it on the government’s side or the contractor so we can take appropriate action,” President Samia said.
