Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE Deputy Minister for Works and Transport, Mr Mwita Waitara, yesterday urged Tanzania Port Authority (TPA) staff to work as a team to ensure efficiency and productivity at ports.
Speaking to TPA management and other employees, Mr waitara said the government expects TPA to improve performance and contribute to the country’s economic growth.
He said all employees must work as a team to meet the government goals and the authority’s targets.
“The government does not want to hear any kind of divisions among TPA staff, you must work as a team because we have the same goals.
Our goal here is to improve the port’s performance and boost revenues,” he noted. Mr Waitara asked TPA staff to support the recently appointed boss, Mr Eric Hamisi, saying his leadership depends on cooperation and support from other employees.
“Mr Erick Hamisi was appointed as your new boss. He was appointed by President Samia Suluhu Hassan, therefore accord him cooperation and support,” he said.
The Deputy Minister added that the Head of State expects TPA to make transformation and work hard to meet the government goals.
