Africa-Press – Tanzania. Discussions between Tanzania and investors are underway to ensure the stalled mega Bagamoyo Port project is implemented.
President Samia Suluhu Hassan revealed this on Saturday when she was officiating the 12th Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) meeting at the State House in Dar es Salaam as she gave an update on the country’s strategic projects.
“I have already issued instructions and I think the government and the sectors involved are still in talks with the investors of Mchuchuma and Liganga to see what the real problem is…” she added.
Bagamoyo Port project, the multimillion dollar Special Economic Zone (SEZ) and Bagamoyo Port in Coast Region was suspended in 2019.
The project was to be implemented by the government of Tanzania in partnership with China Merchant Holding International (CHMI) and Oman’s State Government Reserve Fund (SGRF).
