High Court quashes plea to halt TFF election

Africa-PressTanzania. THE High Court in Dar es Salaam Friday rejected the request to halt the election process of leaders of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) scheduled for August 7, 2021.

Judge Edwin Kakolaki reached into such a decision after refusing to grant an application for “maintenance of status quo” which was presented by advocates for the applicant, Ally Salehe, who was one of the presidential post contestants.

The advocates representing the applicant were Frank Chacha, Nafikire Mwambona and Steven Mosha.

The judge had been invited to grant such orders pending determination of another application for temporary injunction to restrain three respondents from conducting the election process.

The respondents, who are represented by Advocates Alex Mushumbusi and Kennedy Alex are Registered Trustees of TFF, the Chairman of Election Committee and the TFF.

The case has been set for hearing on July 9, 2021.
