Africa-Press – Tanzania. Young Africans SC have disclosed that a veteran midfielder Haruna Niyonzima will be given a befitting farewell during their league match against Ihefu FC at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.
It will be the last home game for Yanga this season as they will be compelled to travel to Dodoma for their final encounter of the campaign versus Dodoma Jiji on July 18th.
The Dar es Salaam based club’s Information Officer, Hassan Bumbuli confirmed the matter as he went as he added preparations for a unique ceremony to hand Niyonzima a well-deserved farewell.
Describing the event, Mr Bumbuli said the ceremony will reflect the midfielder’s remarkable service at the club.
“I want to urge many Yanga fans to flock to the venue in big numbers to witness the historic event which has never happened in the country. He deserves a heroic farewell that is why we want many people to descend at the stadium,” said Bumbuli.
The Rwandan locomotive midfielder is leaving behind a good legacy in the country’s Mainland Premier League as he succeeded to perform best at Yanga and Simba, the two biggest clubs in the country.
He is going to be the second player after Nadir Haroub ‘Cannavaro’ who was also given a perfect farewell after his long term service at the Jangwani Street based club
