OWNERS OF ARUSHA CHILDREN CARE CENTERS ARE GIVEN FIVE MONTHS TO REGISTER

26

AfricaPress-Tanzania: MORE than half of the number of care centers for vulnerable children in the Arusha region are unregistered and operating arbitrarily.

Arusha Regional Administrative Secretary Dr. Athumani Kihamia said 36 stations, equivalent to 40.5 percent of 89 centers, meet the legal requirements for service delivery.

He has given five months to all owners of vulnerable child care centers to have licenses to provide the service. “By December 2021, every facility in the region should be registered and operating in accordance with the country’s laws and regulations,” he said during a meeting with the owners of vulnerable child care centers in Arusha.

Kihamia stressed that some centers do not understand the principles and procedures to be followed in caring for children.
