Africa-Press – Tanzania. University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) Vice Chancellor Prof William Anangisye has announced the death of Prof Wenceslaus Mayo.
The varsity Don passed away on Sunday at TMJ Hospital in Dar es Salaam, where he was undergoing medical treatment.
A statement issued by the UDSM’s Public Relations Office on Monday stated that Prof Mayo was serving at the Water Resources Engineering Department of the College of Engineering and Technology.
According to Prof Anangisye, the fallen academician joined the country’s oldest university as assistant lecturer in 1985 and he climbed an academic ladder to the level of Professor in 2013.
The VC added that the renowned academician had already published over 100 papers in various international journals.
He also chaired and served as a member of various academic and consultancy committees.
The press statement added that Prof Mayo was also an editor of the College of Engineering and Technology’s newsletter.
