Africa-PressTanzania. THE CRDB Bank golf team and Joseph Tango played brilliantly to win the second edition of Corporate Golf Masters tournament staged over the weekend at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club course.

CRDB golfers were crowned the champions of the maiden inter-companies championship that brought together over 95 golfers from across the country.

Kiki Ayonga and Martin Warioba were the players behind CRDB’s victory after their excellent performance in the event each company was represented by a team of two or three players.

CRDB were awarded a trophy which will be rotating every year with winners of three straight years keeping it forever. The CRDB Bank, Johnnie Walker, CFAO, Minet Tanzania, Total, Simba Couriers, Garda World, KTG Travels, At The Wheel, Assemble Insurance and Onomo sponsored event which was organised by the Dar es Salaam -based firm,TAMU Tanzania.

In the individual players, it was Tango, the former Tanzania Golf Union (TGU) chairman who emerged the master of the course. Tango won the Division A men’s title after returning a brilliant 41 points, while Ally Sharifu hit 32 points to finish second.

The Division B title was won by Baraka Sadiki who carved 36 points, Kaushiki Mangarolia came second with 36 points on countback while Kiki Ayonga who returned 35 points finished third overall.

Michael Kiarie, who returned impressive 40 points, won the Division C title, Jimmy Myalize came second with 38 points while Michael Misago who penned 34 points was third.

The tournament that brightened DGC course was not short of prizes as Michael Kiarie won men’s nearest to the pin award while Ellis Katwebaze won the longest drive title.

Delighted with its beauty, many golfers suggested to the organisers to stage the event as at least twice a year.
