Africa-Press – Tanzania. TANZANIA envoys must go out full winged as today they will know their opponents in the major continental level tournaments.
To have four tickets means Tanzanian league is one of the best 12 in Africa, hence our envoys should take the draw as a wake-up call to start early preparations that will enable the country beat the last season’s record.
We don’t want our envoys to repeat the 2019/2020 season, when all four teams were wiped out in the early rounds.
Then there were Simba, Young Africans, Kinondoni Municipal Council, and Azam FC as the four- team’s national envoys in the 2019/2020 season inter-club competitions.
This year we have four teams again including Simba, Young Africans, Azam and Biashara United of Mara who are participating in the major competitions for the first time.
We would like to insist to our envoys not to waste this opportunity since to regain it needs sweat and blood. Therefore all four teams should fight to make sure at least they reach above the group stage in both CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup.
This, as well is an excellent opportunity for the Tanzanian envoys to bring glory to the country; thus, all four teams should take the initiative to do well to make it possible for Tanzania to attain the privilege to take four teams in the 2022/2023 season.
But, that will only depend if the four representatives do well, and this will be possible if all four clubs make good preparations and take each game with seriousness.
The quality shown by Simba and Namungo in the previous season should be maintained by this year’s representatives.
However, Tanzania envoys need to achieve above the quarterfinal reached in the CAF Champions League or a step above the Confederation’s group stage attained by Namungo FC.
So the quality and achievements reflected in the previous season should not be reduced in this new season but should be further fueled and ignited as its fruits go far beyond giving the country glory and honour but our players.
Anything is possible for the Tanzania envoys this season, if possible, winning both CAF inter-club competitions titles. This season, Simba were close to doing so but could not achieve the goal after failing to clear Kaizer Chiefs hurdle.
We end up wishing our all envoys all the best this season and if we rally behind them they will surely deliver.
