Africa-PressTanzania. PRIME Minister Kassim Majaliwa has applauded Simba, Young Africans and Azam FC for investing heavily and good management that help boost Tanzanian football.

He said what the big clubs have done has begun to bear fruits.

On the same occasion, the Premier wished luck to the three big clubs representing the nation in inter-club CAF competitions, including Biashara Mara-United FC.

The Tanzania envoys representing the CAF Champions League are Simba and Yanga, while Azam FC and Biashara Mara-United participate in the CAF Confederation Cup.

As well, the PM issued his appreciation to the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) leadership under their president Wallace Karia.

The Premier said that during his closing remark of the parliamentary session in Dodoma and assured sports fans and stakeholders that the government would continue to strengthen and create an attractive environment for soccer investment in the country.

“First and foremost, I commend the leadership of TFF under President Wallace Karia for the excellent management of football in the country but also congratulate investors and executives of Azam, Simba and Yanga for their excellent investment and management of these clubs as those efforts have bored the industry with fruits.

I want to assure sports lovers and stakeholders, that the government will continue to strengthen and attract significant investment in the sports industry.”

The Prime Minister used the opportunity to congratulate President Samia Suluhu Hassan for approving the establishment of the Sports Development Fund in the country and agreeing to sponsor the CECAFA women’s tournament to incentivise women to participate more in sports.

He said that apart from preparing the team, the funds will also be used to strengthen its sports infrastructure and access to sports facilities, develop and enable schools and sportsmanship centres, run programmes training to find enough professionals, and facilitate programmes community games and National and International competitions.

Premier Majaliwa said the funds will also support access to finance to prepare the National teams of various sports better and enable them to participate productively in competitions and sports internationally.

Also, the Prime Minister has congratulated the National Football Team (National Stars) following their 3-2 win over Madagascar in the second stage of qualifying to play next year’s World Cup in Qatar.

Other than applauding the development witnessed in the sports industry, he applauded Azam TV for their investment in boosting the boxing craze. Their investment has empowered young boxers’ talents to be known.

The Premier applauded Twaha Rubaha alias Twaha Kiduku for picking a victory over Abdallah Pazzy (Dulla Mbabe) and Hassan Mwakinyo for defending his African Boxing Union Super Welter Title against a Namibian boxer Julius Idongo.

Moreover, the Premier has wished luck to the National cricket women’s team, participating in the 2021 International Cricket Council (ICC) Women’s T20 World Cup Africa qualifier.
