Africa-Press – Tanzania. Football Referees Association of Tanzania (FRAT) has defended the appointment of Ramadhan Kayoko as the central referee in today’s Community Shield final between Simba versus Young Africans saying he is well groomed to handle the game.
The first assistant referee will be Frank Komba while Soud Lila will operate as the second assistant ref both from Dar es Salaam.
The fourth official will be Elly Sasii (Dar es Salaam) while Burundian Jean Birumushahu will trade as referee assessor. Match commissioner will be Sarah Chao (Manyara), Protocol Officer Irene Mpulule (Dar), and Security Officer Insp Hashim Abdallah (Dodoma) while Aaron Nyanda will operate as Marketing Officer.
Media Officer will be Clifford Ndimbo (Dar), Match Doctor Lisobine Kisongo (Dar), Assistant General Coordinator 2 Harieth Gilla (Dar), Assistant General Coordinator 1 Jonathan Kassano (Dar) and General Coordinator Baraka Kizuguto (Dar).
In his reaction on Friday, FRAT chairman Soud Abdi described Kayoko as one of the best referees in the country doing a commendable job as far as interpreting the 17 laws governing football is concerned.
“We have put our trust in him that he can do a good job and recently, he was among the referees who officiated the CECAFA competition as such, he is eligible to produce a convincing performance,” the FRAT boss said.
He also pointed out that in the coming season, they have prepared well to ensure that referees do their jobs rightly without any sorts of bias in order to make the league thrilling.
Kayoko is one of the youngest referees in the country an asset for the nation with desire and hungry of success to reach far in his career.
He was also the centre referee during the Azam Sports Federation Cup (ASFC) quarter finals match last year between the two teams of which Simba won 4-1 at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.
Moreover, he whistled the recently held international friendly match held to climax ‘Wiki ya Wananchi’ between Yanga and Zanaco of Zambia whereby the latter triumphed 2-1.
Again, he was picked last Sunday to officiate Simba against TP Mazembe encounter at the same venue to mark the epicenter of the annual celebrated ‘Simba Day’ whereby Simba lost 1-0.
According to FRAT he is among the experienced domestic referees with potential to officiate big matches which attract attention of many people both within and outside the country a thing that scales up his abilities.
In a related development, the world football governing body (FIFA) has selected a Tanzanian ref Frank Komba to be among the referees set to officiate a World Cup qualifying match Egypt vs Libya on October 8th at Borg El Arab, Alexandria.
