The 2021 Shimmuta games will take place in Morogoro in mid-November.
During the talks, the Vice President identified that sport is among the ways to bring unity and brotherhood in the workplace and also helps the body in building a strong immunity to eradicate diseases.
The Vice President also called on Shimmuta officials to use sports to manage and provide awareness on environmental preservation.
He said there are many areas that require tree planting as well as sanitation so Shimmuta should be a catalyst to promote environmental stewardship in practice.
For his part, Shimmuta Chairman Hamis Mkanachi has called on various stakeholders to come forward in large numbers to support Shimmuta games. Over 40 institutions take part in the annual games.
Among the biggest contenders for Shimmuta Games top titles are Tanzania Electricity Supply Company (TANESCO) who emerged the overall champions of the 2019 games held at Mirongo Primary School grounds, Butimba Teachers Training grounds and Nyamagana Stadium in Mwanza.
