MTI trains 920 community health worker on covid-19 in Kasulu, Kibondo

Africa-PressTanzania. The Medical Teams International (MTI) in collaboration with the government has offered special training to 920 community health workers in Kasulu and Kibondo on vaccination and protection against covid-19.

The non-government organization (MTI) embarked into the exercise with the aim of educating the society on the importance of vaccination and how to protect themselves against the deadly pandemic.

“Our aim is to provide high quality services that will restore hope to people who are in need, during this time that we are affected by third wave of Covid -19 the training is a treasure to our community,” the statement read in part

Additionally the organization said the training were based on providing education to the society on the benefit of vaccination and teaching them proper ways to protect themselves against the pandemic

According to MTI lack of proper information has created loopholes for misleading information to flood into the society. It said the awareness created could help stop the spread and captivate people to vaccinate voluntarily.

Apart from the training provided by MTI, the organization has purchased medical equipment worth 451,762,500 to be distributed in Kigoma region.

However, the organization thanked the United States based Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration for releasing a total of 68.8m/- to fund the training.

The Medical Teams International has been cooperating with the government since 2018 by offering help to needful people through their various projects in Kigoma region
