Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has acknowledged the move taken by the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA) to prioritize several areas which are included in the country’s Third Five-Year National Development Plan (FYDP III).
The President outlined the areas as boosting efficiency and competitiveness through infrastructure, trade, private sector and building the capacity of youth and small and medium entrepreneurs.
“We extend our appreciation to BADEA for continuing to collaborate with the government in the implementation of various projects and offering expertise for more than 40 years now,” said President Samia, when she met and held talks with the Director General (DG) of BADEA Dr Sidi Ould Tah at the Chamwino State House in Dodoma yesterday.
On his part, Dr Ould Tah extended appreciation to President Samia for meeting him, pledging to continue supporting the endeavors of the government in bringing development to the citizens.
Elaborating, he presented BADEA’s 2030 strategic plan which have been contributed by the bank’s shareholders capital increase and boosted their ability to extend more support and credit annually.
According to Dr Ould Tah, the strategic plan is focused on infrastructure, youth and small and medium entrepreneurs, increasing the value chain in agriculture, trade, the private sector and building the capacity of the owners of projects.
