Africa-Press – Tanzania. PRESIDENT Samia Suluhu Hassan has made three appointments, including promoting Arusha District Commissioner, Ms Sophia Mjema to the post of Shinyanga Regional Commissioner.
Ms Mjema replaces Dr Philemon Sengati whose appointment has been revoked. According to the Directorate of Presidential Communications, the President has appointed Zanzibar Chief Justice, Judge Omar Othman Makungu as judge of the Court of appeal.
In the same vein, President Samia has appointed Judge Mustapha Siyani to become High Court Principal Judge. Before the new appointment, Judge Siyani was serving as Judge in Charge of the High Court – Dodoma Zone.
He is filling in the vacancy left by Judge Eliezer Feleshi who was recently appointed as Attorney General.
Their appointments took effect on October 7, 2021 and they will be sworn in next Monday at Chamwino State House in Dodoma.
