Africa-Press – Tanzania. THE government has said private sector participation in the Dubai Exhibition 2020 is vital in promoting the country’s goods and services thus helping in unlocking markets.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Doto James said this after holding talks with the Tanzania Private Sector Foundation (TPSF) Executive Director, Francis Nanai and the Executive Secretary of the Tanzania National Business Council (TNBC) Dr Godwill Wanga at the Tanzania pavilion in the ongoing Expo 2020 Dubai.

The objective of the meeting was to look at how the private sector is actively involved and stimulate the participation of Tanzanians in general during the six-month Expo 2020 Dubai exhibition.

During the meeting, the secretary general, among other things, emphasized on the participation of Tanzania, especially the Private Sector in coordination and operation of various programmes in the exhibition so that Tanzania can take advantage of those exhibitions to attract investment.

The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Mohammed Mtonga, Commissioner General of Expo 2020 Exhibition Dubai, and Tanzanian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ambassador Shaban Baraza, Ambassador to the UAE, Tanzania Pavilion Director at Expo 2020 Dubai Exhibition, Ms Getrude Ng’weshemi from TanTrade who was the co-coordinator of the International Exhibition where Tanzania is among the 191 countries in the world participating.

In addition, In addition, TanTrade as the organizer of this exhibition has already prepared a special mechanism for participation of the private sector to present opportunities that required investors.
