Africa-Press – Tanzania. President of Burundi Ndaishimiye has said a border shared by Tanzania and his country is safe, thanks to the cooperation between security organs from the two sides.
Delivering his speech at a joint press statement with his host President Samia in Dodoma, Mr Ndaishimiye who is in Tanzania a three-day state cited cooperation between the two government and citizens as a main factor for the stability.
Despite of the peace and stability at the border, Ndaishimiye who arrived in Dodoma on Friday morning alleged that Burundian opposition politician Alexis Sinduhije was leading a group with a mission of destabilizing peace in the Great Lake region.
He stated that the group was closely working with a terror group ‘IDF’ to accomplish its mission in the region.
Meanwhile, Burundian President said that a fertilizer plant which is being installed in Dodoma by Burundian investors will benefit people from Tanzania and Burundi equally.
“It will employ Tanzanians and Burundians equally. And Tanzanian farmers will benefit from the project,” Mr Ndaishimiye said.
Since Tanzania has reached milestone in the mining sector, Burundian President said his country will learn from their Tanzanian counterparts.
He thanked Tanzania for hosting refugees from Burundi since 1960’s and grant some of them a permanent citizenship under the leadership of President Jakaya Kikwete.
